This year’s Bobby Rea Cross Country event will an exciting affair as we are securing interest from across Ireland, UK and Europe as part of the event’s elevation to International status for this year.

Providing details of the field, Athletics NI’s Director of Coaching & Athlete Development, Jackie Newton said: ‘’After we had announced that we would miss a year of hosting the Northern Ireland International in 2020 [due to a congested January calendar) we decided to make the annual Bobby Rea Memorial event a higher profile race and invite international standard athletes from across Ireland, the UK and Europe to come and compete.”

“We are delighted that Wales will send a full team to compete against us in the team competition and to have secured confirmation from high level athletes including Ross Millington, Emile Cairess, Iona Lake and Mhairi McLennan from the UK; Michelle Finn from Ireland and Siad El Otmani from Italy who will add quality to the race.  The athletes we have selected for the NI & Ulster team have already got off to a good start this season and we look forward to seeing them race on home soil on 9th November.”
