North of England Team Announced for TQ10k Inter-Area Competition

The highly exciting TQ10k will be included in the Inter-Area Road Race Series for the first time this year. The Inter-Area Road Races are a series of events across the UK that our supported by teams from the North of England, South of England, Midlands, Armed Forces, Scotland and Wales. Athletics Northern Ireland are delighted to announce that the Northern Ireland & Ulster team will now be included in this series.

The North of England Men’s team will include Ollie Lockley (Leeds City) who finished in 11th place at the recent UK Intercounties Cross Country in a time of 33:55. He will be joined by Daniel Bebbington (Preston), who holds a 10k PB of 30:56 and Dejene Gezimu (Liverpool Harriers) with a PB of 29:27.

The Women’s team will consist of Carla Davies (Salford Harriers) who recently finished 54th in a time of 41:59 at the UK Intercounties XC. She currently has a PB of 34:52 for 10k. She will be joined by Olivia Stones (Leigh AC) who competed at the SimplyHealth Great Stiring International Cross Country on 12th January 2019 and finished in 18th place in a time of 22:50. Eleanor Bolton (Oxford Uni) who holds a PB of 34:52 and recently finished in 10th place at the BUCS Cross Country Championships in a time of 21:52.

Athletics NI is delighted to host the first event of the Inter-Area Road Race Series and welcomes the UK teams who will be travelling to compete. The TQ10k is in its 13th year and has proved highly popular as the fast, flat course is also the official warm-up event for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon.

The event will be held in the stunning Titanic Quarter region of Belfast, with a 1k Family Run starting at 9.30am and the 10k Run starting at 10:15am.
