The Psychology of Endurance Performance

Athletics Northern Ireland are delighted to support the 'Psychology of Endurance Performance' network event which is being delivered as part of the Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology Conference on Sunday 2nd of December 2018 from 7.30pm at Ulster University Belfast.

This free network event will focus on the physical and mental challenges that endurance activities like running, cycling and triathlon present including unwanted thoughts that urge slowing down, stopping or even to quit.

At this network event strategies that focus on improving pacing, managing expectations, dealing with negative thoughts, and relaxing during endurance activity will be presented by a line up of highly experienced speakers.

The content is suitable for beginner and experienced endurance athletes, coaches, and students.

The event will include practical applications of these strategies to demonstrate how attendees might apply them to support their own training and race events. Coach Development Lead Laura Kerr said: "Athletics Northern Ireland hope to see a number of our member athletes and coaches attending and making the best of this excellent opportunity to hear from leading Sport Psychologists."
