Athletics NI Chairman David Seaton wins the Paddy Patterson Award at Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards

Athletics Northern Ireland Chairman David Seaton M.B.E. received the prestigious Paddy Patterson Award at the Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards in Belfast’s Waterfront hall last night (6^th Feb). This award honours people who have served sport with distinction over many years. David has been involved in Athletics administration and event promotion for nearly 50 years, was chair of the ANI Cross Country and Road Running Committee since the mid 1970s  until he was elevated to become Chair of Athletics Northern Ireland in 2007. In addition he has been a member of the Belfast City Marathon organising committee since its inception in 1982 becoming Race Director in 1992 and  Chair of the Board and Organising Committee  in 2015. Very few important athletics events , particularly in the endurance running sector, have gone ahead without Davie’s valuable input over the past 40+ years.
