British record broken at NI Seniors as Leavy and Walsh-Dann share prize pot

Following the weekend's Senior Championships. Athletics NI are pleased to announce that the joint winners of a share of the £1000 prize pot available for Para athletes are David Leavy (City of Lisburn AC / Ian Neely) and Eve Walsh-Dann. (North Down AC / Roger Sexton).

Both athletes have qualified for August's European Para Championships in Berlin and set PBs in the 800m (Leavy 2.08.92) and 100m (Walsh-Dann 14.72) respectively.

It has emerged that Eve's performance is particularly impressive as it is a new T36 100m British Record adding to her 200m record of 31.73 set in Bedford when representing NI & Ulster last year. Following the weekend's performances Eve is ranked 2nd in the T36 world 100m rankings.
