Jason Smyth adds 200m gold to Para Athletics World Championships medal haul

Northern Ireland's Jason Smyth (Derry Track Club) added T13 200m gold to his T13 100m title at the Para Athletics World Championships in London, England (Tuesday 18th July 2017).

After cruising through his semi-final in 21.89, the Eglinton man powered home in the final, clocking a season's best of 21.40 for 1st place.

This is the third gold medal for local athletes at the prestigious Championships, with Michael McKillop winning the T38 800m.  Michael will now look forward to the T37 1500m final on Saturday 22nd July 2017.  Ballymena Runners' James Hamilton claimed 6th place in the T20 1500m final.
