Kate OConnor heads local challenge for National gold in Athlone

A host of local talent will be chasing National titles at this weekend’s Irish Life Health National Indoor Combined Events in Athlone, Ireland (Saturday 20th January 2018).
Commonwealth Games bound Kate O’Connor (St Gerard’s Dundalk) will head the Northern Ireland medal hunt and will hoping to build on an exceptional 2017. Last year, the multi-event star made her mark on the European Stage with a top ten finish and Northern Ireland Senior Heptathlon record at the European Under 20 Athletics Championships in Italy. Kate will be fresh from a useful stint of warm weather training in Tenerife.
Trevor McGlynn (Omagh Harriers), Sarah Connolly (North Down AC), Naomi Morgan (City of Derry AC) and Anna McCauley (City of Lisburn AC) will also be in action at the event.
