The turn of the year has seen a host of exciting announcements from organisers including the launch of a London schools ticket offer, the Team Personal Best inspiration programme and education hub Starting Blocks as well as a competition to design a mascot for both Championships with plenty more to come between now and July 14.

Niels de Vos, Championship Director for the World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships London 2017, said: “In less than five months’ time the biggest sporting event in the world in 2017 will be underway and we’re incredibly excited by the opportunity to desmonstrate the unique characteristics of both the World Para Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships by creating different digital hubs.

“We now have two different platforms to engage and communicate to our friends, family, fans and followers what makes each Championship special. We are proud to be hosting the World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships this summer and we want the values of both to reach as many people as possible.”

Olivier Gers, IAAF CEO, said: “We are extremely excited with the launch of dedicated digital platforms for the IAAF World Championships London 2017. The new generic ‘IAAF World Championships’ URL and social media handles will help take the hundreds of thousands of ticket buying spectators and the millions of fans globally, on an exciting journey with athletics through this summer’s Championships to the next editions in Doha 2019, Eugene 2021 and beyond.

Craig Spence, Director of Communications and Media at the International Paralympic Committee, said: “We love the new hub for the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships. Once more, this adds to the growing excitement we have for this year’s event and we are relishing the next five months and what they hold for all involved.”

The World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships London 2017 will bring together 3000 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries, who will compete in 30 sessions across 20 amazing days. This is the first time that the World Para Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships will be hosted by the same city in the same summer.
