Stephen Scullion Impresses Over 10 000m in America

Northern Ireland’s Stephen Scullion was in good form as he impressed at the prestigious Portland Track Festival in America (Saturday 10th June 2017).

Competing in a top quality 10,000m race, which included Olympic medallist Galen Rupp (Nike Oregan Project), the Aldershot, Farnham & District AC athlete recorded 28:58.28 for a very credible 11th place.  The aforementioned Galen Rupp won in 28:18.29 (1st place).

After the race, Stephen appeared happy with the performance, stating on social media:  “20 weeks ago I hadn’t ran in 8 months, and was playing rugby.  I’m pretty happy with that result, 20 more weeks and I’ll run a lot faster.”
