Success for Athletics NI Coach Heather Ardis at Belfast Sports Awards

Athletics NI are delighted to congratulate Heather Ardis of Banbridge AC on receiving her award for Senior Coach of the Year at the Belfast Sports Awards 2018.

More than 200 nominations were received for the Belfast Sports Awards and Hall of Fame, and the winners were announced during a dinner hosted by the Deputy Lord Mayor at City Hall. There was a record number of women nominated across all categories, a fitting tribute in the year that marks the 100th anniversary of the first women winning the right to vote.

As a dedicated athletics coach, Heather has lead and developed many AthleticsNI programmes over the years, including the Flahavan's Primary Schools Cross Country; Buggy Club and the Parallel Success. Heather also coaches Jack Agnew, who is taking part in the Commonwealth Games in Australia after becoming the first Wheelchair athlete to be appointed to the team since 2002.
