James Hamilton Selected for Great Britain & NI 2017 Para World Championships Squad

Northern Ireland’s James Hamilton (Ballymena Runners) has been selected by British Athletics to represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships in London from the 14th - 23rd July 2017.

In an announcement today (Wednesday 7th June 2017), British Athletics named their 49 strong team who will compete at the prestigious competition, the full article is available HERE

James, who is coached by Mark Kirk, was understandably delighted with his selection. He relayed his thoughts on social media, saying: “I'm honoured and very pleased to have been selected by British Athletics”, before adding “I'm really excited about running in my first World Championships. I will be competing in the T20 1500m and 800m.

James then took time to express appreciation to his support team, “firstly, I would just like to say a big massive thank you to British Athletics for selecting me on to the team. Secondly I would just like to say a big massive thank you to Mark my coach and to the amazing group I train with for all your help and support, and to Athletics NI Youth Academy S&C coaches Laura, Tom, Dean and Adam for your help and support as well.”
