Commonwealth Youth Games 2017

Commonwealth Youth Games

It has been traditional for the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games Council to send a small team to the Commonwealth Youth Games. As one of the sports usually included in the team, Athletics NI will nominate athletes for selection to the Commonwealth Games Council.

To be eligible for consideration athletes must be born in the U18 age group and eligible to compete under Commonwealth Games Federation rules .

Guideline performances for consideration are typically based on the British Athletics World Youth standards. However it should be noted that these are only guidelines and if places are available selectors will consider eligible athletes who are close to the standard without achieving it.
