Athletes Preform in Ostrava and Loughborough

Christine McMahon (Ballymena & Antrim AC, Ian Neely) had a late call up to the prestigious Ostrava meeting on Friday night. She finished 7th in the 400mH just missing her SB with 57.85, a second B standard, guaranteeing her place at the European Championships in Amsterdam in July.
The weekend wasn't over for Christine as she then travelled to Loughborough to represent BUCS to finish second to Loughborough's Jess Turner in the International 400mH race in a time of 59.11. Some 90 mins later she was back in action running a stunning leg 3 for the Irish 4x400m team who ran 3.35.03 to qualify for the European Championships.
In the men's event, Jason Harvey (Crusaders AC, Nick Dakin) finished fourth in the Guest A race with 51.90.
World Masters Champion Kelly Neely (City of Lisburn AC / Ian Neely) hung on to the tough pace set in the International 800m race to run 2.06.90 for ninth place.
Leon Reid (Birchfield Harriers/James Hillier) had his first race back from injury with third place in the Guest A 200m race in 21.10 (2.6).
Megan Marrs (City of Lisburn/Tom Reynolds) ran a seasons best in the Women's International 100mH finishing fourth equal in 13.86 (1.1).

Ahead of today's Olympic Marathon Selection, North Belfast’s Gladys Ganiel (Matt Shields) won the women’s race in 78:28.
