Athletics NI are pleased to announce that Mark Kirk will be joining the Talent and Performance Team as the new Endurance Coordinator.

Mark has team coaching and team selection experience with both Athletics NI and Athletics Ireland and has coached numerous athletes to major international championships including European Cross Country Championships, European Indoor Championships, World Para Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Mark’s role will be to provide endurance specific expertise to inform the vision & delivery of Athletics NI’s endurance pathway programmes at Talent & Performance levels in order to increase the number of Northern Ireland athletes gaining selection for major championships and winning major championship medals and to monitor the trajectories and performance profiles of middle distance and endurance athletes as they emerge through schools and clubs into talent programmes and progress to performance level. Mark will also work closely with the Talent and Performance staff and personal coaches to support progression of athletes and promote appropriate level of competition and coach development.
