TJ McElmeel Cup Host Round 1 of ANI XC League 2024-2025

With excellent weather at the Palace Demesne, Armagh AC hosted the TJ McElmeel Cup, with the senior races incorporating Round 1 of the 2024-2025 ANI XC League. The TJ McElmeel Cup hosted age group races from U9 to U18, as well as a 60+ Masters Men’s race.
The first race of the ANI XC League was the Women’s Open and Masters, which saw Robyn McKee (Annadale Striders) take a comfortable win, with Aine Cotter (North East Runners AC) in 2nd and Jennifer Martin (Tafelta AC) in 3rd. After Round 1 of the Women’s ANI XC League standings, Tafelta AC are in the lead with 24 points, followed by Annadale Striders with 20 points and North Belfast Harriers with 19 points.
Followed by the Men’s Open and Masters race, which saw Jimmy Sloan (Annadale Striders) came out on top followed by Tom Fleming (Loughview AC) in 2nd and Stephen Connolly (Annadale Striders) in 3rd. For the Men’s ANI XC League Annadale Striders are in the lead with 26 points, North Belfast Harriers in second with 24 points and North Down AC in third 20 points.
