4x400m Relay Potentials Face Off in Senior Men 400m

Set only one week before the AAI Senior Championships (and European Championship Trials) the NI & Ulster Senior Championships Men’s 400m has been energised with some last minute entries.

Irish 400m record holder David Gillick (SB 47.24) will return to the Mary Peters Track following his second place to Theo Campbell at the Belfast International. The Dublin man has made an impressive comeback in 2016 after three years out and may well have a chance at a 4x400m place for Amsterdam and even Rio.  Irish Universities Indoor Champion Andrew Mellon (SB 47.48) was third in the Belfast International race, a matter of days after his PB at the BUCS, and will be looking to reverse the order this time round. The fastest in the field in 2016 is all round sprinter and AAI Indoor 60m Champion Craig Lynch SB (47.07).

There is continued strength and depth in the field with the additions of 800m specialist Niall Tuohy (PB 47.78) and 400m Hurdles specialist Brandon Arrey (SB 48.07) as well as the recent Ulster and Irish Schools Senior Champion Christopher O’Donnell (SB 48.07).

Late entry is still available until 5pm Wednesday (8th). Click Here
