Athletics NI are delighted to welcome you to this dedicated 2026 Commonwealth Games page. From June 2025 to July 2026 this page will be updated regularly and provide key information for athletes, coaches and officials.

 

The 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow from Thursday 23 July to Sunday 2 August 2026, returning to the city 12 years after the hugely successful 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Track and field athletics and Para athletics will be staged at Scotstoun.

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Nomination Policy Info Webinar 2 July 2025

Athletics NI launched the Nomination Policy for Glasgow 2026 this month for the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow from Thursday 23 July to Sunday 2 August 2026.

We will be hosting an information webinar on 2 July where athletes and coaches can hear from:

  • CGNI on their selection policy and how this links to the Athletics NI nomination policy
  • The Athletics NI Nomination Panel Chair on the development and requirements of the policy
  • Athletics NI Performance staff on the information we have on Glasgow 2026 so far and the timeline over the next 12 months

Athletes and coaches who would like to hear more about the process for nomination, the key information included within the policy and the requirements for athletes to be eligible to be nominated please sign up below.
