Recent scientific investigations are becoming more aware of the different nutritional requirements between male and female athletes. Research in this area has typically been on male athletes, however, with the growing knowledge that female athletes have different nutritional requirements, in her presentation, Mónica Sousa will focus on nutritional strategies which are important and specific to female athletes.
Mónica Sousa is a Professor in Sports and Clinical nutrition and currently working with Portuguese Athletics Federation and the NOVA Medical School at the NOVA university of Lisbon.
