Sport NI’s SportMaker Awards are back for 2023 and nominations are now open!
The SportMaker Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of coaches, officials, volunteers and projects over the last 12 months and the vital role they play in supporting, developing, and encouraging people to benefit from the Power of Sport.
Nominations can be made by members of the public across six award categories for coaches, two award categories for officials, two award categories for volunteers and one category for SportMaker projects.

Community Coach of the Year- Aidan O’Neill

Performance Pathway Coach of the Year- Mark Kirk
“Mark coached Nick Griggs to a European Indoor Mile Record and freely gives of his time to mentor & support many other junior endurance coaches in Northern Ireland”
Technical Official of the Year- Liz Glover
“Liz is a stalwart of officiating for Athletics NI, giving up many hours to help & assist with competitions, and to encourage others to get involved. Her professionalism and calm presence is an inspiration to others”.
