Belfast 5k to 10k Progression Initiative funded by Sport NI’s Every Body Active 2020 is a programme designed for runners of all ages and abilities that have recently completed a Couch to 5k programme or are regularly running 5k and would like to progress to 10k.
The initiative will take place on a Monday evening leaving Mary Peters Track at 6 30pm, returning at approximately 7 30pm. Runners will be given advice to do 2/3 additional runs during the week from athletics NI Coaches who will lead the initiative.
The session will include a warm up run, running drills, main session and then a cool down with stretches. The programme will be exclusive to those who have registered online. The programme will conclude with participants taking part in a 10k race at the end of October. Details of this will be confirmed when the fixture calendar for this winter is finalized.
