Physical Preparation for Adult Endurance Runners

Athletics Northern Ireland sessions for Adult Endurance Runners are scheduled to take place every Wednesday evening beginning on 17th October and concluding on Wednesday 19th December at Mary Peters Track from 7.45pm-8.30pm. 

The sessions are suitable for any adults endurance runners such as couch to 5k graduates and  club members. These sessions aim to develop skill and physical preparedness specific to improving adult runners in endurance events. The sessions to be led by Aaron McKendry will begin at 7.45pm.

The sessions will include a range of different components to help condition endurance runners such as:

  • Foundational strength exercises with kettlebells
  • Core Stability
  • Glute, Hamstring & Calf Conditioning
  • Running Drills

The content delivered will closely mirror activities of the physical preparations sessions for endurance athletes squad.

Capacity is limited to 16 runners (aged 18+) with a cost of £30.
