Jim Alexander (Pole Vault)

Jim is one of our most experienced coaches having coached pole vault athletes to 4 Commonwealth Games, European Indoor and Outdoor Champs, European Under 20 Champs and World Student Games. He coached Neil Young (COLAC) to the Northern Under 20 and U23 records of 5.00m and 5.20m and Zoe Brown (B&A) to the Northern Ireland Under 20, Under 23 and Senior records of 4.00m, 4.20m and 4.45m respectively. More recently he coached Ellie McCartney to the Northern Ireland Under 18 record (3.75m) in 2017 and the Irish Under 20 record (3.90m) in 2018. His current group includes Abbie O’Neill who equalled the Irish Under 17 indoor record of 3.35m in February 2020.
