Unfortunately, on Saturday due to a weather warning in place the NI Masters XC Championships which due to be held at the Dub were cancelled. However, the aftermath of storm Amy did not deter our local athletes from competing both at home and across the water the following day.

Over thirteen hundred runners took to the roads around Bangor for the Seaton Classic 10k which was also the 2025 NI and Ulster 10k road championships. The athletes were greeted by some heavy rain showers and blustery winds; however, this did not detract from some great performances.

Athletics NI is excited to confirm a new partnership with the NI Running Show, taking place 7–8 February 2026 at the Eikon Exhibition Centre. This landmark event is the first of its kind in Ireland, bringing together the running community from across the island.

It was an historic night for Northern Irish and Irish athletics on Saturday 20th September when Kate O’Connor became the first Northern Irish Medallist at a non para global outdoor championships since Mary Peters’ Olympic Gold in 1972.
