Athletics NI say Farewell to Performance Pathway Manager Tom Reynolds

Athletics NI’s Performance Pathway Manager, Tom Reynolds will be moving on after 12 years as a staff member and coach, and an excellent career as an International athlete.

Tom has been a passionate member of the Performance Pathway team, performing the Team Manager role on a number of occasions, including multiple Commonwealth Games, World and European Championships. Tom was fundamental in the creation of the Youth Academy, supporting hundreds of NI’s talented athletes to success along with supporting the Coach Development Pathway.

Tom was an international athlete in the Decathlon, reaching the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010, with a PB of 7270, he is one of the highest ranking NI decathletes.

Tom’s long career as a coach, includes coaching Olympian and World Silver Medalist, heptathlete, Kate O’Connor. From the Paris Olympics in 2024 to the record medal haul in 2025, Tom was involved in Kate’s training and preparation. Tom also coached his brother Ben Reynolds to multiple major championships including World and European Championships as well as a host of other athletes. Tom coached two-time British Indoor Champion, Megan Marrs in the 100m Hurdles. Tom has been instrumental to the development of multi eventers including Anna McCauley (European Team Combined Events & Commonwealth Youth Games) and Jordan Cunningham.
