Bookings now being taken for 3rd NI & Ulster Endurance Development Squad
07 February 2018
Following the successful delivery of two NI & Ulster Endurance Squad days in September and December 2017, Athletics NI are pleased to announce a third date for Sunday 25th February 2018. The squad day will be held at Antrim Forum from 9.30am-5.00pm.
The theme of the camp will be event specific preparation for summer competition and will provide an opportunity to discuss and experience key sessions for middle - long distance events including steeplechase. Time will be given to reviewing the objectives of the first two training days and discussing the various methods that are being used for monitoring training.
Jackie Newton, Director of Coaching and Athlete Development said, “Through this series of camps we aim to support the preparation of athletes and the development of coaching in the endurance event group.
“We are focusing on specific preparation and training that is relevant for each phase in a periodised year. Appropriate training methods and factors are explored at the start of each new phase through the autumn, winter and spring. This final squad day will look at the pre-competition phase ahead of the summer season.”
The cost for attending the squad session will be £30, including catering. There are a maximum of 30 places for boys and 30 places for girls available. Bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.
Once bookings are made no refunds can be given. Athletes and coaches who are eligible to attend can book and pay through our online booking system.
