Ciara Mageean and Conor Bradley Star at Morton Games

Portaferry’s Ciara Mageean (Team New Balance) and Derry’s Conor Bradley (City of Derry Spartans) fought strong winds and torrential rain at yesterday evening’s Morton Games in Santry.

Ciara ran a strong race in the Women’s 800m to finish in 4th place. The World Championship-bound athlete finished the race in 2:01.94, her 3rd best ever time. She commented: “I felt really strong in the second lap but the windy conditions affected us all. I got bumped a bit, but that’s racing”.

Conor ran a spectacular race in the Men’s 5000m finishing in 10th place in a new PB time of 13:56.52, beating his previous PB by an impressive 20.1 seconds. This now puts the Derry/Londonderry native at the top of the Northern Irish rankings for the 5000m and he is 24th in the UK for 2019.
