Come Run A Mile With Mary

Youth Academy athletes, Craig McMeechan (North Down AC) and Anna McCauley (City of Lisburn AC) joined Lady Mary Peters to launch the inaugural event.

Athletics Northern Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of the first ever ‘Run A Mile With Mary’ event. The event will take place on Friday 10th May at the Mary Peter’s Track and all proceeds will go to the Mary Peter’s Trust.

The event will begin at 3pm with a series of ‘Fun Miles’ which are open to all and will have a series of time slots during the day. The Fun Miles will be hand timed and runners will receive a certificate of participation. Fun Miles can be ran, walked or jogged and will be a great event for the whole family, so why not come down and join in?

The money raised will all go to the Mary Peter’s Trust, which aims to help young people from across Northern Ireland achieve their sporting dreams and ambitions by supporting selected athletes financially and providing them with access to a team of experts.

We will then have a special Celebrity Race at 6pm, with some familiar faces and a special appearance from Lady Mary Peters.

There will then be Junior Mile events for U10s and U12s and a number of chip-timed races in waves from 10+ minute miles to 5 minute mile, before a Wheelchair Mile and the Elite Male and Female races. The full timetable can be found on the website here

Entries are available online for £5.00 per adult and £3.00 per child. There is also a family entry option for £15.00 for 2 adults and up to 3 children. The online entry will be available until 8th May 2019, with entries also available on the day of the event.

Entrants be offered the chance to raise additional funds for the Mary Peter’s Trust, with a special Run A Mile With Mary sponsorship form.
