GDPR Information Session for Clubs
07 August 2018
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Session
Tuesday 28th August at 7pm in the Les Jones Room, Mary Peters Track, Belfast
Changes in government legislation regarding data protection called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) have been in place since 25th May 2018.
GDPR is an important change in government legislation regarding data protection and stands for The General Data Protection Regulation. It effectively provides an update to the Data Protection Act, bringing in new requirements and increasing the penalties for breaches.
As a result of this change in legislation, Athletics Northern Ireland is hosting an information session for clubs on the introduction of GDPR. As spaces are limited clubs are limited to 1-2 representatives per club. If the session is over-subscribed clubs will only be allowed one representative. Priority will be given to affiliated clubs.
This information session will be led by Athletics NI Director of Business and Operations, Kerry Woods with support from Director of Progressive Edge Marc Scott.
Online entry for the GDPR session is available here
