LOVE ISLAND STAR TO FACE NIS BEST AT NI & ULSTER SENIOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Former Love Island reality TV star Theo Campbell (Birchfield Harriers) will make a guest appearance as a wealth of local talent chase the generous £2,000 prize-fund at this weekend’s Northern Ireland & Ulster Senior Track & Field Championships (Saturday 9th June 2018).

As this year’s show grips the nation, 26 year old Theo will be chasing 400m glory against Northern Ireland’s former European Championship competitors Craig Newell (Ballymena & Antrim AC) and Andrew Mellon (Crusaders AC).

In what should be an exciting day of action, new Under 20 100m record holder Aaron Sexton (North Down AC) will come up against the man he took the record from, decorated Paralympian and senior 100m record holder Jason Smyth (Derry Track Club).

2018 Commonwealth Games athletes Adam McMullen (Crusaders AC), Ben Reynolds (North Down AC) and Emma Mitchell (QUB AC) will also be chasing gold and potentially a place on the Athletics NI team for the upcoming Manchester International.

Olympian Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle AC), former World Masters 800m Champion Kelly Neely (City of Lisburn AC), current NI & Ulster 5k (Road) Champion Neil Johnston (Springwell RC), current AAI National Marathon Champion Laura Graham (Mourne Runners) and IAAF World Junior Championship qualifying athletes Davicia Patterson (Beechmount Harriers) and James Kelly (Finn Valley AC) are amongst the plethora of talent set to take to the Mary Peters Track.
