NI & Ulster Athletes on Tour at the Belgium World Cross Country Gold Meet

Last weekend on Sunday 22nd January we had 8 NI & Ulster athletes represent Ireland at the World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold Meet. With brutally cold and snowy conditions, it made the race perfect for cross country!
The Junior Men’s 6km race saw U20 Lagan Valley athlete Frank McGrath storming to the finish line in 11th. In the Senior Men’s 9km race, North Belfast Harrier’s Finn McNally came through with an impressive 9th with fellow clubmate Andrew Milligan coming 20th. Within the Senior Men’s race St Malachy’s U23 athlete Conall McClean crossed the line in 29th.
On to the Junior Women’s 4.5km race where U20 Anna Gardiner (East Down AC) had a magnificent run coming in at 6th with Ireland teammate from North Belfast Harriers Roise Roberts behind her in 10th. Leading to the Senior Women’s 8km race where Senior Armagh AC athlete Fionnuala Ross came 13th and Annadale Striders U23 runner Hannah Gilliland coming in at 35th.
