NI and Ulster Team Announced for Manchester International

Athletics NI are pleased to announce the NI & Ulster team for the Manchester International which takes place on 18th August. The event involves the traditional Senior Match (England v Scotland v Wales v NI & Ulster v NAL v GB U20) as well as a new Junior Match (GB U18 v Eng U20 v Sco U20 v Wales U20 v NI U20).
The team is spearheaded by four Commonwealth Games athletes and a further four athletes who have European or European Para Championships experience.
Performance Lead Tom Reynolds said: “We are delighted that the International is back for 2021, it was our aim to bring a strong team made up of athletes that are aspiring towards next year’s Commonwealth Games and European Championships; those transitioning towards senior internationals in the near future, as well as promising juniors. Although not all of our best performers in 2021 were available for selection, this team has great potential to take on their rivals from the other home countries. The standard of this event will provide the opportunity for athletes to thrive in a competitive environment and we hope to see seasons bests, personal bests and perhaps even Commonwealth Games standards.”
