Paralympics Ireland Talent Search

Paralympics Ireland have launched a new pilot Virtual Talent Search programme. The programme is specifically designed to guide potential athletes into the Para Athletics programme.

The Virtual Talent search programme is introduced by 6-time Paralympian Jason Smyth, who demonstrates the specific movements necessary to obtain an initial assessment of a participants range of movement and base level abilities.

Participants are asked to record a range of 10 movements as demonstrated by Jordan Lee, Greta Streimikyte and Patrick Monahan. Once the movements are complete, they can be uploaded via the Virtual form or through the use of WhatsApp to the Paralympics Ireland High Performance team who will then be able to make an initial assessment.

Potential athletes are then funnelled into the system based on their potential and introduced to clubs to continue their athletic development.
