The hugely popular TQ10k and 1k Family Run will return this Sunday, 31st March 2019 to the stunning Titanic Quarter for its 13th year. This year’s event will see over 1500 runners take to the start line between the sold out 1k Family Run and the 10k, which is the official Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon warm-up event.

The race will be part of the Inter-Area Road Race Series for the first time, which involves teams from North of England, South of England, Midlands, Scotland, Wales and the UK Armed Forces competing across a variety of road race events across the UK. The TQ10k is the first in the series for this year, which will be a two-way match between NI & Ulster and the North of England.

The NI & Ulster Women’s team is: double Scottish Half Marathon Champion, Fionnuala Ross (Armagh AC), Irish International and European Cross Country medallist, Ann-Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC) and her Letterkenny team mate Nakita Burke and last year’s winner, Laura Graham (Mourne Runners) who recently won the Larne Half Marathon.

Facing the women will be Carla Davies (Salford Harriers), Olivia Stones (Leigh AC) and Eleanor Bolton (Oxford Uni) from the North of England team, along with competition from NI, Rachel Gibson (North Down AC).

The Men’s team will be: NI & Ulster Senior Cross Country Champion, Mark McKinstry (North Belfast Harriers), Christopher Madden (City of Lisburn AC), who has previously finished in 2nd place on the TQ10k podium, Conan McCaughey (North Belfast Harriers) and Scott Rankin (Foyle Valley AC).

The team will face opposition from the North of England team of Ollie Lockley (Leeds City), Daniel Bebbington (Preston) and Dejene Gesimu (Liverpool Harriers).

As with previous years, there will be a specially commissioned ‘Titanic’ medal presented to each participant who completes the 10k route and the 1k Family Run. The 1k Family Run will start at 9.30am, with the 10k starting at 10.15am. For more information, including maps, registration times and car parking please see here.
