Rising Stars Impress

The annual XC event hosted by St.Malachys High School Castlewellan in preparation for upcoming School Districts at the end of the month saw the school welcome Shimna Integrated College Newcastle to their grounds for a local meet. 

Owning the top of the podium at the Year 9 race where Fahlin Murphy-McKibbin and Eve McNamara in first and Fiachna McAleenan and Maisie McVeigh in second. 

All 4 runners, also represent Newcastle AC.

Ollie Hannah (Loughview AC) had a few successes in recent weeks. He ran the North Down Championship XC race in Bangor and came first in Year 9 race for his school strangford college. He has also ran the last few track and field live events in Dublin in December. His 800m PB was 2.23 and in December he ran 2.20 and 2.17 within 2 weeks of each other.

David McLean placed 2nd in the u17 age category of the Seeley Cup in December.
