Sun Shines on Senior Championships

We had another fantastic weekend at the Mary Peters Track with the NI & Ulster Senior Track and Field Championships taking place on Friday (16th June) evening and all-day Saturday (17th June).
Starting off the Championship on Friday was the Men’s 800m Final, with Willowfield Harriers’ Andrew Wright winning in 1:55.03. In the Women’s 800m Final, North Down AC’s Rachel Gibson won in 2:10.43. The 10,000m saw North Belfast Harriers’ Conan McCaughey take a convincing win in a time of 30:56.27, leading North Belfast Harriers to the Team Prize.
Moving onto Saturday, with some highlight performances by Callum Baird in the Men’s 400m Final running 47.13. Lauren Callaghan (Finn Valley AC) jumping 5.58m in the Women’s Long Jump. Ciara Sheehy throwing 13.56m in the Women’s Shot Put. With the final event of the day being the Men’s 1500m, where CNDR Track Club’s Callum Morgan took a convincing win in a time of 3:56.64.
