Ten athletes from Northern Ireland and Ulster have been named in the Irish squad for the upcoming European Cross Country Championships, taking place in Lagoa, Portugal on 14 December.
The selections highlight the strength and depth of emerging and established talent across the region, with several athletes set to make their championship debuts.
Among the standout names is Nick Griggs, who heads a formidable men’s U23 lineup. Griggs is joined by training partners Callum Morgan and Lughaidh Mallon.
In the women’s U23 category, National Champion Roise Roberts leads the squad, accompanied by fellow DCU athlete Amy Greene.
There is also excitement surrounding the men’s U20 selections, with Caolan McFadden and Finn Diver both earning their first Euro Cross call-ups. Emily Haggard Kearney will also make her debut on the senior stage in the Senior Women’s race.
Meanwhile, two familiar faces return: Anna Gardiner heads to her third consecutive European Cross Country Championships, and Lucy Foster secures her second appearance for Ireland.
