Last year’s winner Mark McKinstry (North Belfast Harriers) will be competing to retain his title alongside his North Belfast teammate and last year’s 3rd place winner, John Black. The two will also be hoping to grab some much needed points for North Belfast Harriers in the Men’s League tables, as they currently sit in 3rd place behind North Down AC and Willowfield Harriers. All three teams look set to grab points and with only 3 more races left in the league calendar, every point counts.
The organising team, Mallusk Harriers, will be out in force across all events. The home team won the Men’s overall team prize last year, followed by North Belfast Harriers and Jog Lisburn Running Club, while the Ladies team came in 2nd place just behind Albertville Harriers, with Jog Lisburn RC in 3rd place.
In the Ladies’ League tables North Down AC will be looking to extend their already impressive lead. They are currently followed by Ballydrain Harriers and Acorns AC. All three teams have a strong contingent travelling to the Mallusk Playing Fields which is sure to make for an interesting event.
