OFlaherty and Mitchell Impress on first indoor race of 2017

06 January 2017

Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle AC / Richard Rogers) finished 3rd at the Scottish indoor 3000m in a time of 9.12.88, just over a second outside of her indoor PB set in 2016 when winning the Irish Indoor title. The Rio Olympian will now have her sights set firmly on the tough European Indoor Championships qualifying standard set by Athletics Ireland of 9.05.00.

There was further progress from Emma Mitchell (Queens / Eamonn Christie), who, following on from an excellent 2016 took 11 seconds off her outright 3000m PB finishing 4th in 9.17.19.
