Online Safeguarding in Athletics Course

Please note that as of 1st April 2019 ALL coaches who wish to renew their license must complete an online UKA Safeguarding course via the Athletics Hub. Please see below for a Step by Step guide on how to set up your Athletics Hub profile and complete the Safeguarding course:

Athletics Hub

Please note, that from the 1st April 2022, all newly qualifying coaches (LiRF and Coaching Assistant level) must complete the online UKA Safeguarding course as part of their mandatory training via the Athletics Hub. This is included as part of the course cost for both LiRF & Coaching Assistant from April 1st 2022 and will be automatically available within Athletics Hub upon registering for the course.

 

Online First Aid Course

Please note, that from the 1st April 2022, all newly qualifying coaches (LiRF and Coaching Assistant level) must complete the online UKA First Aid course as part of their mandatory training via the Athletics Hub. This is included as part of the course cost for both LiRF & Coaching Assistant from April 1st 2022 and will be automatically available within Athletics Hub upon registering for the course.

 

Safeguarding Children & Young People Training

Athletics NI, in conjunction with Sport NI, regularly holds Safeguarding Children & Young People Workshops to support the community to increase their knowledge of safeguarding policies & procedures, what to do to make a safe culture in your club or environment, what safeguarding is and how to report concerns. This three-hour training session (including pre-workshop learning) is regularly held throughout the year and upcoming workshops are advertised below. This workshop is recommended for all those involved in a club or community Athletics environment.

Designated Safeguarding Officer Training

Athletics NI, in conjunction with Sport NI, regularly holds Designated Safeguarding Officer Workshops to support the Welfare Officers to increase their role specific knowledge on what the Safeguarding Officer role is, how to embed Safeguarding within your club and how to deal with concerns. This three-hour training session (2 X 1.5 hour sessions) is regularly held throughout the year and upcoming workshops are advertised below. This workshop is recommended for all Welfare Officers and prior completion of the Safeguarding Children & Young People Workshop is a workshop pre-requisite.

Mental Health Training
