Having completed the Athletics Coach award and secured a clear Access NI check, you will be issued with an Athletics Coach license that insures you to coach:
However, if you want to be insured to coach any of the other events in Athletics then you will need to take some additional technical modules. Many of these modules can be done online but for the more dangerous events you will also be required to take a short practical assessment. You can see the requirements for each event below:
The online technical modules can be accessed FREE of charge through the uCoach|LEARN online platform. This is the same platform you will have used to undertake your Knowledge Test during the Athletics Coach award. To undertake the online modules follow these simple instructions
The following short video shows how to access the uCoach|LEARN platform and enrol on a course:
Having completed an online Technical Module your British Athletics profile will be updated and the next time you are issued a license it will show as having been updated. You can check the current status of your online profile at any time via uLearnAthletics.com or myAthletics Portal. If simply taking the online module is enough to give you insurance to coach that event your coach license will be updated with this information next time one is issued to you. For the Pole Vault, Discus and Hammer you will also need to do a practical assessment.
If you have completed your online module for Pole Vault, Discus or Hammer and require a practical assessment please contact Laura Kerr.
